Datuk Dr Balwinder Singh MBBS, MS (ORL-HNS), Rhinology (RACS) – Head Of Department and Consultant Surgeon

He has been practicing as an ENT surgeon for the past 20 years graduating from University of Malaya with Masters in ORL-HNS in 1998. He has worked in various government hospitals and has been heading the Dept. of ORL-HNS of Putrajaya Hospital since 2001. He had done his Fellowship in Rhinology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide in 2005 and is certified by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has been involved in the training of ENT specialist to become Rhinology sub-specialists since 2008 having trained more than 10 such specialists who are practising all over Malaysia. He also has a special interest in Sleep Disordered Breathing having trained at Flinders University Hospital in Adelaide and is involved in the training of specialists as well as medical staff in this field.

He is well known among the ENT fraternity as Key Opinion Leader in the field of Rhinology and Sleep Medicne with special skills in tackling complicated nasal and sinus surgery as well as rhinoplasty making his department a referral center for such cases. He is also well known in the field of sleep disordered breathing resulting in collaborating cutting edge research with USA in seeking new alternatives to treating obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr Fauziah

Dr Fauziah is an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon with 10 years experiences in ENT and over 16 years working in health service. She has been with Hospital Putrajaya as ENT specialist for the last 6 years and treats a wide range of patients related to ENT disease. She is dedicated in providing optimal medical care, improving her patient’s health and educating their family members about the diseases and treatments. Audiologists

Dr Yusmeera

She is the Audiologist in the Pusat Perkhidmatan Audiology at Hospital Putrajaya. She obtained her degree in Bachelor of Audiology with Honours from National University of Malaysia in 2004. Her clinical skills involve handling variety of hearing impaired cases from adult to children and engage in personal sessions with adults and children, especially for the aural rehabilitation process. She is also involved as Secretary in National Cochlear Implant Programme Ministry of Health. At present she is the senior Audiologist and Head for Audiology Unit in ORL Department, Hospital Putrajaya. She is also the Vice President for Audiology Technical Working Committee for Ministry of Health Malaysia. She has been appointed as the part time Clinical supervisor for undergraduates by Audiology & Speech Sciences Department, National University of Malaysia. She is also one of the committee members in developing the Standard Operating Procedure for Cochlear Implant and Audiology Services in Malaysia. She is actively involved in creating awareness among public on the importance of hearing screening programme in newborns and work hand in hand with multidisciplinary professionals to provide the best patient care.

 

Speech Therapist

Nurhayati binti Mohd Mossadeq

She has been working as a Speech-Language Therapist for 10 years after graduating with a Degree of Speech Sciences with Honours at National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2003.

She had worked in various government hospitals in KKM and NGO Rehabilitation Centres before working in Hospital Putrajaya (HPJ) since 2013 which exposes her to the management of a variety of complex cases. She has been the head of the HPJ Speech-Language Therapy Unit since 2014. Clinically, she is managing various types of adult and paediatric cases involving speech language disorders and dysphagia. Her special interest in dysphagia and voice disorders led to the establishment of the combine clinic for Fibreoptic Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (FEES) and Vocal Fold Assessment Procedures at HPJ which involve ENT Doctors and Dieticians.

She is a lifetime member of the Malaysian Speech-Language Pathologist Committee (SPEAK) and is the secretary of the Medical Rehabilitation Officer (Speech) Committee, Ministry of Health (MOH). She was involved in a research which was published in the Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology Journal and has published several articles in the MyHealth Portal, MOH. She has also been appointed as a clinical Supervisor for undergraduates of the Speech Sciences program, UKM since 2014 until now. She is actively involved in giving talks and programs gearing towards creating awareness regarding the topics of speech and language disorders among the public and other professionals at the hospital, profession, and MOH level.
