ENT Package or ENT Screening – Why we do not and will not offer it?
There are a few reasons:
- There is no necessity for this unless you have symptoms (eg a lump in the neck, nose block, swallowing difficulty) or have done a blood test eg raised EBV titre which warrants a nasoendoscopy
- After you have done an ENT screening, it does not mean that in the near/distant future you will not get what you went to screen yourself for in the first place.
- You may get a false sense of security and be less likely to seek early help when you really have an ENT problem which may initially not cause you discomfort or you may downplay it due to the fact you were recently screened.
- Datuk normally does screen Ear, Nose and Throat when warranted in all patients who see him for ENT problems.
