I would like to start with huge thanks to Dr. Balwinder and the nurses Vicky and Fazreen for the best experience. All the staff at the hospital were very helpful and kind, best hospital experience I’ve had. KMI Taman Desa Medical Centre.

My issue when coming to Dr. Balwinder was mainly breathing, I always had difficulty breathing through the nose due to many factors, and I discovered them slowly as I observed.

At first it was enlarged turbinates, and this issue was treated with another doctor. The operation went well and I did feel improvement from the inside of my nose. Much space was created and I got somewhat better. However at the time, I did not know I had other problems too. So After the surgery with the other doctor, I still had issues breathing and my sleep was impacted. It was really frustrating and that ENT doctor said he can’t help with the external issues on my nose, he referred me to a plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon said he can’t help me because the only technique he knew was very invasive. Then I went to another plastic surgeon (because I was convinced that now my next solution will be with one) and the surgeon was willing to help, but the hospital he was in was not enlisted in my insurance. I was tired of searching and was really giving up on finding a solution, but all these failures were meant to inspire me to search deeper one more time to find a doctor, and I found Dr. Balwinder. An ENT doctor who specialises in rhinology and sleep issues, the best combination I could find. And just like you, review reader, I read most of the 5 star reviews here and was happy that I found exactly what I need without second guesses. Immediately after that I went to set my first appointment. The doctor identified and treated the nasal valve collapse issue, a sinus blockage, deviated septum and straightened my nose on the way. The surgery went amazingly and I’m now 4 months post op. I no longer need all the nose opening devices and tools I used to desperately buy to help me breathe. My exercise has improved and so did every other activity.

Later my sleep issues for some reason still continued, and I mentioned it to the doctor, and that’s when I discovered a new layer to my breathing issues, during sleep this time. I never knew I had sleep apnea, though I tried a cpap as a random attempt to fix my sleep issue (it didn’t, so I thought it wasn’t sleep apnea), so I never mentioned it to the doctor. I had been very bothered by my nasal obstructions that I didn’t notice anything else. I underwent a DISE (drug induced sleep endoscopy) to identify my issues as recommended by Dr. Balwinder, and we found the remaining issues, it was indeed Obstructive Sleep Apnea from two points. I scheduled my second surgery (Anterior palatoplasty, hyoid suspension, Tongue Base Radio frequency and tonsillectomy) with Dr. Balwinder on 4th of February this year and it went smoothly. My breathing (even during wake hours) and sleep is much improved and will continue to improve as I heal from the recent surgery.

My breathing from all critical points in now much better than when I started, and I am very grateful for the existence of Dr. Balwinder. Very caring, answering all questions and encourages them. Very skilled with office endoscopy tools (idk if they have a special name) so it never hurts although the camera is almost at your brain.

If you have any ENT problems especially breathing related, do yourself a favour and set an appointment now.
